Lash Technician Job Requirements

To become a lash technician, one may need to complete the following:

Education: Most employers require lash technicians to have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Some employers prefer a bachelor’s degree in cosmetology or a related field. Cosmetology programs typically take about two years to complete and include courses in anatomy, chemistry, business and cosmetology.

Training & Experience: Most lash technicians will receive on-the-job training from their employers. This training will typically include instruction on the products the salon uses, how to clean the equipment and how to perform the services. The length of the training will vary depending on the salon, but it is usually between one and three months.

Certifications & Licenses: Lash technicians do not need a license or certification to work in the industry. However, some salons may prefer lash technicians who have this certification.
